Night, Truck, Two Lights Burning

This beautiful artist’s book, designed by Janine Wong, combines the text of Peter Turchi’s short story with Charles Ritchie’s Night in Three Panels, one of the inspirations for the story, and Folded Night, created in response to the story. The hand-sewn book was printed in a limited edition of 100 and numbered and signed by both the writer and the artist.

“Night, Truck, Two Lights Burning” was recognized by the editors of Best American Short Stories as one of 100 honorable stories and by the editors of O. Henry Prize Stories as one of 15 recommended stories when it originally appeared in Ploughshares. It is included in the anthology The Story Behind the Story and has been translated into Arabic.

Charles Ritchie’s work is included in some of the finest collections in the country, including those of the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, the New York Public Library, and the BostonPublic Library.
